Technical & installation

How does the MiAgua smart water meter work?

Our Pulse water meter is fitted to your pipe just after your water company's meter. It counts the water going into your property and sends the readings by radio to the transmitter, which uploads a reading every hour. If the readings cross the limits you set, MiAgua messages you and anyone else you nominate.

Do you touch my water company's meter?

No. Everything we fit sits after the supplier's meter, on your side of the connection. Your official meter and its readings are untouched, so your billing relationship with the water company does not change.

Will my water be turned off during installation?

Only for the few minutes it takes to cut the sensor into the pipe. The technician turns the supply back on before leaving and checks every joint under pressure.

Does the sensor need WiFi or a mobile signal?

The sensor itself does not. It uses a low-power radio link to the transmitter. Only the transmitter uses your WiFi.

Does it need my home wifi?

No home wifi needed, connects directly via the mobile network.

How often are readings taken?

Every hour. That is the difference between finding a leak the same day and finding it on a bill two or three months later.

Pricing & included

How much does MiAgua cost?

We are finalising our pricing. There will be a one-off installation charge and a separate annual monitoring charge. Details will be published here shortly.

What does the installation fee cover?

The Pulse water meter and radio transmitter, all fittings, and the technician's labour on the day. There is no separate charge for the site visit or for setting up your alerts.

What is included in the annual monitoring?

Hourly readings in the app, two alert levels set with you, alerts to as many contacts as you like, your full consumption history, support in English and Spanish, and replacement of any faulty MiAgua equipment while you are monitored.

Is anything extra to pay?

Only the remote shut-off valve, which closes your supply from the app when an alert fires. Nothing else is chargeable — no call-out fee for an alert, no fee to add contacts, no fee to change your thresholds.

Do I pay monthly or yearly?

Monitoring is paid a year at a time, alongside the one-off installation fee at the start.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No. Monitoring is paid a year at a time. If you do not renew, the service simply stops at the end of the year you have paid for.

Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-year?

The monitoring year is not refunded part-way through, but you keep the service until that year ends. The installation fee is a one-off and is not refundable once the equipment is fitted.

What happens to MiAgua if I sell the property?

The equipment stays with the house. Tell us and we will move the account and the alert contacts across to the new owner, or close it.

What if I stop and start again later?

The hardware is already fitted, so you only pay the monitoring year again. There is no second installation fee.

Coverage & availability

Which towns does MiAgua cover?

We install across fifteen towns in the Marina Alta: Jávea, Dénia, Moraira, Benissa, Benitachell, Cumbre del Sol, Teulada, Gata de Gorgos, Jesús Pobre, Pedreguer, Orba, Ondara, Vergel, Benidoleig, Beniarbeig. If your property is in or very close to one of these, we can usually fit MiAgua.

My town is not listed. Can I join a waitlist?

Yes. Tell us your town and email on the coverage page and we will let you know as soon as we start installing there. There is no charge or commitment to join the list.

Do you install in apartments as well as villas?

MiAgua is designed for houses and villas with their own water supply and meter. Apartments with a shared building meter are usually not suitable, but send us your address and we can confirm.

Can MiAgua work in a holiday home I only use part of the year?

Yes. In fact, holiday homes are where we find the most value. The system runs continuously, and if a leak starts while you are away, you or your keyholder hear about it the same day.
